2026 Liability Waiver

NBCDS wants all dancers to be aware that our insurance does not provide coverage for personal injuries. Although injuries at our dances have been very rare, participation does involve some inherent risk. To address this, NBCDS has created a Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk Form for all dancers and other participants to review and sign. We encourage everyone to read the form carefully.

Effective January 2026, all dancers and others will be required to sign this waiver as a condition of participation. By signing, dancers acknowledge that participation in dance activities and use of the facilities involve inherent risks, that participation in NBCDS activities is voluntary, and that they agree to release NBCDS and the owners, lessors, managers, and operators of the properties and facilities where NBCDS dances and events are held from liability related to any dance or other event sponsored by NBCDS.

You may either print and sign a copy to bring with you to one of our dances or read and sign a copy at the dance. You will only need to sign the waiver once, and it will remain valid unless changes are required. Unless otherwise noted, this waiver will cover all NBCDS events.

Membership

Support these great dance events by becoming a member. Member fees help with costs that stretch beyond what dance admission covers — insurance, advertising, and bookkeeping as well as facility rental and paying our musicians, callers, and sound techs. Regular membership is just $30 and a family membership is $50. Sustainer membership is $50 – $100. North Bay Country Dance Society members receive a discount on admission most NBCDS and BACDS dances.
