Epicenter 2024

We’ve secured our line-up for Epicenter 2024, the epic urban contra weekend in Mill Valley. Join us April 5th-7th for high-voltage dances with gender-neutral calling by Seth Tepfer and Alexandra Deis-Lauby. The floor will buzz with tunes by the Free Raisins and Genticorum. Mark your calendar now and set an alarm…registration opens December 1st.

Support these great dance events by becoming a member. Member fees help with costs that stretch beyond what dance admission covers — insurance, advertising, and bookkeeping as well as facility rental and paying our musicians, callers, and sound techs. Regular membership is just $30 and a family membership is $50. Sustainer membership is $50 – $100. North Bay Country Dance Society members receive a discount on admission most NBCDS and BACDS dances.

Apple Tree Morris: May Day Sunrise

Come cheer on the Apple Tree Morris team as they dance up the sun in Sebastopol on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. We start dancing at 5:30am so we suggest arriving a few minutes prior to that. We recommend dressing warmly and bringing a chair or blanket to sit on. We dance behind the Sebastopol Community Center Youth Annex on Morris St., next to Wischemann Hall.

  • Apple Tree Morris will be dancing a dozen traditional Morris dances!
  • Kalia Kliban will be leading three community dances!
  • Cyprian Stevens will be leading three sing-along May Day community songs!
  • Robert Davis will play his bagpipes at the appropriate time to help us greet the dawn in its full glory!

We are also performing at Community Market in Sebastopol around 1:30pm on Saturday May 4th.

NBCDS Board 2022-2023

At the May 18 Annual Meeting, we confirmed the NBCDS Board for 2022-2023. We welcome Jen Bamesberger as NBCDS Board President for the current year. Craig Meltzner will remain as Vice President and Assistant Treasurer as well as resuming representation of our community as a member of the national CDSS Board. Hideko Oga remains as Treasurer and Bonnie Richardson as Secretary. Michael Martin and Marlene Mahan have again committed to service, and we welcome Sarah Lee back to the Board. We are enthused at the prospect of a return to more in-person events and are working to keep our community members safe and healthy as we gather again.
