Syncopaths
From dance floors to concert halls, the Syncopaths bring a fresh, contemporary spin to tunes and songs rooted in the Scottish, Irish, and American folk traditions. At the heart of the band’s sound are the twin engines of Ryan McKasson’s dynamic Scottish-based fiddling, and the understated-but-monster picking of mandolinist Ashley Hoyer. Jeffrey Spero provides wonderfully creative and surprising piano accompaniment, anchored by the driving power of Christa Burch’s inventive bodhran. Christa also lends her singular voice as lead singer.
 
Notorious
Notorious features the amazing talents of Eden MacAdam-Somer on fiddle and vocals, and Larry Unger on guitar and banjo, along with Sam Bartlett on mandolin and banjo, and Pokey Hellenberg on percussion. The band is known for its virtuosic and versatile performances, which blend various genres like traditional American, Celtic, and Eastern-European tunes with swing, blues, classical, and original compositions. Their music is often described as thrilling and energetic.
 
Gaye Fifer
Coming to us from Pittsburgh, PA Gaye is an accomplished caller with over 25 years’ experience. An active dancer herself, Gaye understands the subtleties of making dances particularly satisfying for dancers. Her instructions are clear and concise, and an easy smile and delightful sense of humor are part of her relaxed, pleasant style at the microphone.
 
Liz Nelson
Liz is lives in Western Massachusetts and has become well-known for her clear teaching and warm, welcoming presence. She knows that everyone can dance and firmly believes “if you’re having fun and being safe, you’re doing it right!” Nothing delights her more than working with a group of enthusiastic, joyful dancers.
