EPICENTER, an urban contra dance weekend in Mill Valley, CA, begins Friday March 31, 2023 and ends Sunday April 2. We’ll have two great bands! The Figments – Anna Patton (clarinet), Ethan Hazzard-Watkins (fiddle), Owen Morrison (guitar, foot percussion); and The Latter Day Lizards – Dave Langford (fiddle, guitar), Bill Tomczak (clarinet, saxophone, banjo, uke, doumbek), Kate Barnes (piano, guitar, flute, harmonica), Mark Murphy (bass). Plus renowned callers Cis Hinkle from Georgia and Lindsey Dono from Washington. Gender neutral calling!

LOCATION: Strawberry Recreation Center, 118 E Strawberry Dr, Mill Valley, CA 94941.

COVID POLICY: Masks, vaccinations and testing are required; please see the registration page for details.

ACCOMMODATIONS and CARPOOLS: We provide a Facebook event page for dancers wishing to arrange shared housing and/or carpools. We make every effort to find housing for out-of-town dancers if desired. We appreciate locals offering hospitality to traveling dancers – it’s a wonderful way to expand your network of dance friends. List of nearby motels

FOOD: A variety of tasty and healthy snacks will be served throughout the weekend, but no meals. A list of local restaurants will be available.

  • Work Trade ($90 – we will contact you)
  • Limited income scholarship (we will contact you)

The work trade fee is $90 for a 4-hour time commitment (limited quantity; must be approved). If you want to attend but need a limited income scholarship, indicate that on the registration form and we will contact you. Go to the Epicenter Registration page to register today!

CANCELLATION:  Cancellations are subject to a $20 processing fee (except COVID-related). After March 18, 2023 the full fee will be retained unless we are able to fill your place.
