Join us for the 2026 Mad Robin Ball Weekend, May 15-17, in Petaluma, California.  Our 22nd Mad Robin Ball Weekend includes a welcome dance on Friday night, a workshop and the ball on Saturday, and a potluck brunch and dance on Sunday. All dances will be held on the resilient wooden dance floor in Petaluma’s spacious Hermann Sons Hall, 860 Western Avenue, Petaluma, CA.

Weekend Highlights

Friday, May 15, 7:00-10 pm

The Welcome dance will feature Bruce Hamilton calling to music by Charlie Hancock, Christopher Jacoby, and Michelle Masek.

Saturday, May 16

Dancing Leader Andrew Shaw will lead the afternoon workshop and evening ball program.

  • 1:30-4:00 pm Workshop, music by Lisa Doyle and Gary Thomas
  • 7:00-10:00 pm Ball, music by Persons of Quality

Sunday, May 17

Enjoy a potluck brunch at Hermann Sons Hall and adjacent outdoor space. Andrew Shaw will then lead the dance, with music by Persons of Quality.

  • 11:30 am-1:30 pm Potluck Brunch
  • 2:00-5:00 pm Farewell Dance

Registration is open for the Workshop and Ball, which are limited to 125 pre-registered dancers.  The Friday and Sunday dances are open to all with admission paid at the door.  


Community Expectations

  • COVID precautions. The current expectations are as follows:
    • Wearing masks will be optional.
    • Covered outdoor areas will be provided for social interactions and during refreshment breaks and the Sunday brunch.
  • Additional COVID precautions are listed in the NBCDS covid policy.  The Mad Robin Ball committee will monitor local COVID levels and reserves the option to alter this policy and inform attendees if medical wisdom dictates.
  • Dance Etiquette.  The Mad Robin Ball committee asks participants to follow the NBCDS policy on dance etiquette.  
  • Fragrance-Free Policy.  Please refrain as much as possible from wearing or using products that contain synthetic fragrances, including perfumes, deodorant, soaps, laundry detergents.  Fragrance-free soaps for handwashing will be available at our events.
  • Code of Conduct for NBCDS events.
