SUMMARY:House Concert: Larry & Caroline
DESCRIPTION:\nYou are invited to a House Concert with Larry Unger and Caroline McCaskey at Cathy Clary’s home in Petaluma on Friday Sept 23\, 2022\, 7 p.m. Suggested donation (pay at the door): $15-$25. Enjoy the artistry of these talented musicians up close and experience some tunes outside the usual dancing genres. Weather permitting\, we may sit on the deck surrounded by the lovely garden; however\, September evenings may be cool\, so we’ll likely be indoors — attendance is limited. Bring a simple-to-serve dessert snack to share at the break. Larry and Caroline will have recordings and other items for sale.\n\n\n\n\nRegister now (https://forms.gle/JTa9R1UMxocAy1vL7) to save a seat!\n\n\nOpen to all regardless of vaccination status. Well-fitting N95/KN95/KF94 level masks required indoors. Pre/post concert COVID testing optional\, though suggested if you have a recent exposure or higher risk level. Not an NBCDS-sponsored event.\n********\nCaroline McCaskey has been a regular fiddle teacher at Fiddlekids\, a day camp run by the Freight & Salvage in Berkeley\, and has returned to Colorado annually to teach cello\, musical saw and theremin at the Rocky Mountain Fiddle Camp. She is also the 2019 U.S. National Scottish Fiddle Champion. Caroline holds degrees in music composition and viola performance\, from the University of the Pacific and University of Denver\, respectively. Caroline plays a modern American violin and a 28-inch Tenor “C. Blacklock Special” Musical Saw.\n\n\n\nLarry Unger was raised in Detroit\, and he moved to the Boston area as a young adult. He has been a full-time musician since 1984\, ranging from finger-style blues and slide guitar\, rags\, and old-time banjo tunes to original waltzes and fiddle tunes. He has performed at dance and music events across the United States and around the world. Larry has composed more than 5000 tunes\, which are widely played at contra dances everywhere. He likes to play a number of unusual instruments such as banjo guitar\, fretless banjo\, jaw harp and piano harp.\n\n
