Save the Date! Registration Opens 11/1 for An Urban Contra Party Dance Weekend of unprecedented proportion.
One that will rock the West Coast off the Richter scale.

The Epicenter Dance Weekend will be held in gorgeous Northern California the weekend of March 27-29, 2020. The setting will be picturesque Mill Valley in the heart of Marin County, just north of the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge at the beautiful Strawberry Reception Hall. The result will be a weekend of nearly constant contra dancing to satisfy even the most discerning of dance fanatics.

Stringrays is an inimitable five-some of musicians with a shared interest in exploring great fiddle tunes. Their playing is fueled by a love of the living tradition of New England fiddle music and its cousins. Expect dynamic, lyrical improvisation and fresh, dance-inspired interplay.

Eloise & Co. features the combined creative force of three of the country’s most sought-after dance musicians, Becky Tracy, Rachel Bell and Bethany Waickman, crank out dance and concert music with unbridled energy and soaring beauty. Their depth and versatility is evident not only in their dynamic playing but also in their rich and unique repertoire, ranging from exciting original compositions to rock-solid traditional tunes. Eloise & Co. was born out of Becky and Rachel’s transcendent melodic connection, their shared love for powerful rhythmic momentum, and their joy in making music together. The blissful vibe is contagious, drawing everyone in the room into a sublime and memorable experience.


Will Mentor is a contra and square dance caller from Northern Vermont known for his clear teaching, upbeat wit, and relaxed stage presence. He loves to choreograph evenings with a variety of dances and tempos that at times surprise and always delight, all the while keeping intact his guiding principle as a caller: “It’s about the dancers!”


Dana Parkinson started contra dancing in 2009 in Tampa, Florida with the Tampa Friends of Old-Time Dance. Through support from her local community and dancing like crazy at dozens of dance weekends, Dana found herself at the Contra Calling Workshop with Cis Hinkle at Augusta Dance Week in Elkins, WV. In no time at all she was calling local dances. She called her first dance weekend in Gainesville, Florida in 2012 and hasn’t looked back!
